Physical therapist / Training and movement specialist Profile
I began my career in elite sport, working as a Physiologist across multiple Olympic and Paralympic cycles, latterly with British Rowing. During this time, I completed my doctorate on Sleep and Athletic Performance, a field that quickly became central to my practice. Driven by a strong commitment to public wellbeing, I now bring this specialist knowledge beyond high performance sport, delivering sleep health education to corporate organisations, athletic programmes, and individual clients. I have a particular passion for group learning environments, where open discussion helps people understand sleep in a way that feels relevant and empowering. The recurring themes that emerged from these conversations inspired me to write The Essential Guide to Women’s Sleep: Supporting Healthy Sleep Practices for Wellbeing and Performance, a practical resource designed to bridge scientific evidence with real world needs.
I work with both audiences and individual clients wanting to understand sleep in more detail e.g. sleep and stress, sleep and shift work, women’s sleep. My approach is holistic and person-centred. I take time to understand the full context of someone’s life — their routines, pressures, health, environment, and goals — so that any guidance I offer is meaningful, realistic, and grounded in evidence. Where appropriate, I also signpost to trusted practitioners or organisations for more specialised support. When clients work with me, my aim is that they feel heard, understood, and equipped. I want them to leave with a clear understanding of how sleep works, why it matters, and the practical steps they can take to improve their sleep health and overall wellbeing.
At the core of my practice is a simple but powerful principle: the body, the emotions, and overall health are inseparable. Sleep sits at the intersection of all three, which is why a holistic approach is essential. Therefore, I take an integrated approach to sleep health, recognising that physical demands, emotional wellbeing, and daily pressures all shape how we sleep. By understanding the whole person, I help clients make meaningful, realistic changes that support their overall health and performance.
Groups sessions tend to be webinar based (although can be in person) and follow a 45-minute presentation on the chosen sleep topic, plus 15 minutes for any questions. Individual sessions are virtual. I offer a suite of packages ranging from a 30-minute sleep consultation to a wider package involving sleep questionnaires and online consultations to assess how the sleep support strategies are working.
