What working holistically means in therapy practice
Counselling sessions
Help clients to integrate their intellectual understanding of their presenting problems through psycho-education alongside the emotional with longer lasting effects.
Therapy doesn't take place just 'in the head'
Clients are encouraged to connect to physical sensations and resulting signs/symptoms experienced physically.
Where appropriate, they are cross-referred to complementary therapies rooted in scientific evidence.
Practitioners work with clients to identify barriers to wellness
Empowering them to make positive changes in a space that’s non-judgemental and accepting of choice.
Sessions are held with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work
Research shows that this leads to long-term positive actions and meaningful change.

Why a counselling assessment?
The assessment is a crucial part of the therapeutic process. Ultimately, we believe that this is key to us helping you to find the right counsellor for you, right from the off. And unlike some counselling services, we prefer that ours are carried out by trained, qualified counsellors who are expert in assessing and who understand the various types and styles of counsellors that would work best for you.
For reasons of safety and ethical practice, we believe counselling assessments require a human connection and active listening skills, and this is why we don’t automate this step and charge a non-refundable £25 fee.
Holistically Humanâ„¢
Transforming mental health, one whole person at a time.
We recognise that support looks different for everyone. You may be drawn to movement-based practices, talking therapy, or body-based work depending on what you’re experiencing. Our directories are designed to help you find the right approach — whether that’s working with a movement practitioner, connecting with a counsellor, or exploring hands-on, body-based support.
