Counsellor Profile
I wanted to become a counsellor after working with special educational needs students who needed counselling and seeing all the amazing work the counsellor did with them. I’m keen to work with clients to make them feel empowered to make their own choices about decisions that are right for them, while holding no judgement on their decisions. I hope my clients feel safe and heard, and believe I am someone who holds them.
I strongly believe in the importance of building a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship. Once this foundation is established, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to work with you as the unique individual you are. Through my experience working in a school supporting individuals with additional needs and their families, I have developed a deep understanding of the everyday challenges people can face. This enables me to work sensitively with a wide range of experiences, including overwhelm, masking, burnout, difficulties with self-belief, emotional regulation, and anxiety or depression.
I absolutely believe emotional wellbeing is connected to physical experience, what we feel comes out in so many ways. Physical activity is liked to stress relief and better emotional wellbeing Having holistic understanding informs the way I work with clients.
